Description
This matched Goodman upflow HVAC package delivers 30,000 BTU of cooling and 96% heating efficiency in a single, fully integrated assembly designed for straightforward residential replacements or new construction installations.
The outdoor condenser (GLXS4BA3010) connects directly to a cased indoor evaporator coil (CAPTA3022A3) housed in a 14-inch deep cabinet. Both cooling components ship with factory-installed thermodynamic expansion valves and operate on R-32 refrigerant, which meets current EPA standards while offering a lower global warming potential than older refrigerants. The copper-tube aluminum-fin condenser coil rests inside a louvered, powder-coated steel enclosure engineered for field corrosion resistance.
Heating is handled by a dedicated gas furnace (GR9S960403AN) featuring a 40,000 BTU input, single-stage gas valve, and a multi-speed ECM blower that stages airflow to minimize cycling noise and maintain stable room temperatures. An aluminized-steel tubular heat exchanger works alongside a self-diagnostic control board, high-pressure cut-off switch, low-pressure protection, and a factory-sealed filter drier.
System Capabilities & Installation Benefits
- Pre-Matched Integration: Condenser, cased coil, and furnace share standardized electrical schematics and refrigerant pathways to streamline field installation
- EPA-Compliant Cooling: 14.5 SEER2 efficiency rating paired with modern R-32 refrigerant reduces energy draw and aligns with regional phasedown regulations
- Fuel Conversion Ready: Furnace can be converted to propane operation using an optional aftermarket LP kit
- Manufacturer Backing: Components designed, engineered, and assembled in the USA, covered by a 10-year parts limited warranty when registered online within 60 days of installation
For homes requiring approximately 2,000 to 2,800 square feet of conditioned space, this 2.5-ton configuration balances static pressure and airflow without demanding oversized ductwork. The unified component lineup eliminates guesswork during tubing, wiring, and structural mounting, allowing contractors to complete the install faster while homeowners receive reliable seasonal climate control.
