Description
Quiet comfort starts with a motor that adjusts instead of just switching on and off. The Goodman AMVT24BP1300 pairs 2 tons of airflow capacity with a variable-speed ECM blower and ComfortBridge communicating technology, giving smaller homes precise humidity control and steady comfort without the noise and temperature swings of a single-speed system. Its compact 17.5" cabinet fits standard closet installs, so upgrading to variable-speed doesn't mean upgrading your mechanical space.
Key features that matter in the field
- Variable-speed ECM blower motor — maintains constant CFM across a wide range of static pressure conditions
- ComfortBridge Technology — auto-configures airflow and tonnage in communicating mode, with Bluetooth diagnostics via the CoolCloud app
- Internal factory-installed TXV for precise refrigerant metering in cooling and heat pump applications
- All-aluminum evaporator coil with an R-32 sensor built to last the life of the coil
- Adjustable low-CFM fan-only operation for efficient continuous circulation
- Rigid SmartFrame cabinet with coil mounting track for quick repositioning
- Galvanized, leather-grain-embossed cabinet; DecaBDE-free thermoplastic drain pan with secondary drain
- Fault recall of the six most recent faults for faster diagnostics
- Multi-position design: upflow, downflow, or horizontal installation
Regional readiness and important compatibility notes
- R-32 only — not compatible with R-410A systems or refrigerant
- Best matched with a same-tonnage Goodman GSXC/GSZC series outdoor unit for full warranty coverage
- ComfortBridge features require a compatible communicating thermostat and outdoor unit
- Suited to homes in the ~900–1,200 sq ft range, depending on climate and insulation

Why this matters for you For smaller homes, variable-speed operation often gets skipped in favor of a cheaper single-speed unit — but the AMVT24BP1300 makes it accessible without oversizing the equipment. You get steadier temperatures, quieter operation, and ComfortBridge diagnostics that make callbacks faster to troubleshoot, all in the same footprint as a standard air handler.
