  • Description

Meet the Goodman GDVT961205DN— a 100,000 BTU two‑stage gas furnace engineered for serious downflow heating in large homes. With a robust 96 AFUE, this unit converts 96 cents of every energy dollar into warmth, delivering dependable comfort while helping lower annual heating costs. Encased in a wide 21" cabinet, it’s built to fit closets, alcoves, or attic spaces and pairs seamlessly with 2–5 ton R‑32 cooling systems to create a balanced, whole‑home climate solution.

    Why this furnace stands out

    • High-efficiency performance — 96% AFUE means premium energy capture, a meaningful upgrade over older lower‑efficiency models.
    • Powerful heating with smart modulation — 100,000 BTU input (96,000 BTU output) and a true variable‑speed ECM blower up to 2,000 CFM adapt airflow to demand, maximizing comfort and minimizing cold spots.
    • Two‑stage operation — The gas valve runs on a lower output during mild days for quiet, even temperatures, then ramps to full power on colder days for reliable warmth.
    • Advanced comfort technology — ComfortBridge™ enables intelligent communication between components; Auto‑Comfort tunes airflow and temperature balance for whole‑home comfort without manual adjustments; enhanced dehumidification keeps humidity in check year‑round.
    • Smart control and service — CoolCloud™ Bluetooth app lets authorized contractors commission, diagnose, and service the furnace from a smartphone or tablet, reducing on‑site time and hassle.
    • Downflow design for specialized spaces — Specifically engineered for closets, alcoves, and attic installations where air must move downward through ductwork, with a wide 21" cabinet that supports 2–5 ton cooling systems.
    • Installation flexibility — Certified for direct vent (2‑pipe) or non‑direct vent (1‑pipe) configurations, plus left or right gas and electrical connections for straightforward field setup.
    • Durable, efficient heat exchange — Heavy‑duty aluminized‑steel primary heat exchanger with wrinkle‑bend technology plus stainless steel secondary exchanger maximize heat transfer and longevity.

    Smart comfort, real‑world impact

This furnace isn’t just about big numbers—it’s about consistent, dependable warmth when you need it and quieter operation during milder days. The 2,000 CFM variable‑speed blower precisely matches heating and cooling demand, reducing energy waste and uneven temperatures. With Auto‑Comfort and enhanced dehumidification, rooms stay comfortable whether you’re hosting guests in winter or relaxing during a humid summer. The result is a more stable indoor environment with fewer temperature swings and improved humidity control throughout the year.

Designed for large homes and versatile installations

Large residences with variable cooling loads require a furnace that can keep up without oversizing. The GDVT961005CN’s 5‑ton blower sizing and 100,000 BTU input are purpose‑built to work in tandem with 2–5 ton R‑32 cooling systems, delivering robust heating without sacrificing efficiency or comfort. The downflow configuration is ideal where ducts descend through closets, alcoves, or attic spaces, ensuring effective distribution even in tight spaces.

    Practical considerations and tips

    • Choose the 21" cabinet for installations where space is at a premium but you still need substantial heating capacity.
    • Pair with compatible R‑32 cooling systems to achieve an integrated, whole‑home climate solution with balanced airflow and humidity management.
    • Leverage CoolCloud™ during installation and service windows to simplify commissioning and diagnostics without dismantling cabinet panels.
    • Take advantage of the two‑stage operation on shoulder seasons; it minimizes heat cycling and reduces wear on components while keeping rooms evenly warmed.
    • Opt for the venting configuration that matches your home’s exterior routing—direct vent (2‑pipe) or non‑direct vent (1‑pipe)—for flexible, code‑compliant installation.
