Description
Meet the Goodman 3 Ton 14 SEER2 AC Plus 80 Percent AFUE Gas Furnace System Downflow R32—a thoughtfully designed, all-in-one heating and cooling solution built to deliver steady comfort, efficiency, and simple maintenance in homes that use floor-based ductwork. This downflow configuration pushes conditioned air through floor registers, making it an ideal fit for basements or homes where ductwork resides in lower spaces.
Efficient cooling meets reliable heating
The system combines a central air conditioner with a dependable gas furnace, delivering balanced comfort across seasons. The cooling component carries a 14 SEER2 rating, signaling enhanced efficiency that helps reduce summertime energy use without sacrificing performance. On the heating side, the 80 percent AFUE gas furnace converts a substantial portion of fuel into usable warmth, delivering reliable heat during chilly months without unnecessary waste.
Eco-friendly refrigerant for a lighter environmental footprint
R32 refrigerant is used in this Goodman AC Plus system, offering a lower global warming potential relative to older refrigerants while preserving strong cooling capacity. That means you can enjoy effective climate control while making a more responsible choice for the planet.
Why the downflow design matters
Designed for installations where ductwork and supply plenums sit near the floor, the downflow layout directs air downward through floor registers. This approach can simplify retrofits in homes with existing basement or crawl-space duct runs and can contribute to more even cooling and heating distribution in multi-story layouts.
What sets this system apart
- Integrated comfort in one package: A cohesive central cooling and heating solution reduces compatibility concerns and simplifies service, so you won’t juggle mismatched components.
- Solid mid-range efficiency: 14 SEER2 cooling paired with 80% AFUE heating provides a practical balance of comfort and operating cost, well-suited for homes that want dependable performance without premium upfront spend.
- Environmentally mindful refrigerant: R32 helps lower the environmental impact of your cooling system while maintaining strong performance in hot and humid conditions.
- Flexible installation options: The downflow orientation supports floor-level duct layouts, enabling versatile placement in basements or homes with specific architectural constraints.
- Thermostat-friendly control: Compatible with standard thermostats and common zoning configurations, making it easy to tailor comfort to your schedule and preferences.
Who benefits most
This Goodman system is a strong match for mid-sized homes with existing downflow ductwork, especially where installation in basements or lower levels is preferred. It appeals to homeowners upgrading from older, less efficient systems or new-build projects that require a balanced, all-in-one heating and cooling solution without sacrificing long-term reliability.
