Description
Meet the Goodman 3 Ton 14 SEER2 AC and 96 AFUE 100K BTU Gas Furnace Upflow System with R32—an integrated heating and cooling solution designed to deliver reliable comfort in a single, space-efficient package. This upflow configuration is engineered for straightforward installation where air returns are located below the furnace, making it a practical choice for a wide range of homes and basements.
Why this system stands out
- A 3-ton air conditioner delivers dependable cooling capacity during hot summer months, while the 100,000 BTU gas furnace provides powerful warmth for chilly nights.
- High efficiency by design: The AC carries 14 SEER2 for advanced seasonal efficiency, and the gas furnace matches up to 96% AFUE, meaning more of your fuel becomes usable heat and less is wasted.
- Environmentally friendlier refrigerant: The system uses R32 refrigerant, which offers a lower global warming potential than many traditional blends, helping you reduce environmental impact without compromising performance.
- Flexible upflow orientation: The upflow layout simplifies installation in many single-family homes and improves airflow distribution for consistent comfort across living spaces.
What this system does for your home
During the warmer months, the outdoor condenser works with the indoor coil to remove heat from your living spaces, delivering cool indoor air with steady, reliable performance. When days turn colder, the gas furnace kicks in, turning natural gas into efficient, consistent heat to keep bedrooms and common areas warm and comfortable. The combination of a mid-sized cooling capacity and a robust heating output makes this system well-suited for homes that experience both hot summers and cold winters.
Ideal for
- Mid-sized single-family homes and townhomes where a compact, all-in-one comfort solution is preferred
- Homes in climates that require efficient cooling in summer and reliable furnace heat in winter
- Installations where an upflow configuration is advantageous for ductwork layout and space constraints
Key benefits you’ll notice
- Lower energy bills over time due to high SEER2 cooling efficiency and high AFUE heating efficiency
- Reduced environmental impact thanks to R32 refrigerant with lower global warming potential
- Stable, even temperatures across living spaces with dependable cooling and heating performance
- Long-term reliability from a trusted Goodman system designed for easy maintenance and parts availability
Installation and maintenance tips
For optimal performance, ensure the system is installed by a qualified HVAC professional who will correctly size the equipment, commission the refrigerant charge, and verify proper airflow. Regular maintenance—changing filters, inspecting ductwork for leaks, and scheduling seasonal tune-ups—helps preserve efficiency and comfort. As with any upflow installation, proper clearance around the furnace, access to return air, and correct duct design play crucial roles in achieving the promised SEER2 and AFUE performance.
Why choose a Goodman upflow system
This 3 Ton 14 SEER2 AC paired with a 96 AFUE 100K BTU gas furnace offers a balanced, year-round solution that prioritizes comfort, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. By selecting a system that pairs efficient cooling with a powerful gas furnace and a refrigerant with lower environmental impact, you’re not only investing in immediate comfort but also in long-term energy savings and responsible home cooling and heating.
