Description
Sized for single-family dwellings between 1,200 and 1,600 square feet, this paired Goodman heating and cooling arrangement delivers precisely matched 24,000 BTU outdoor airflow and controlled indoor distribution to prevent system short-cycling and energy waste.
Core Equipment Specifications
The outdoor GLXS4BA2410 condenser houses a single-stage scroll compressor and a copper-tube, aluminum-fin coil sealed within a louvered, powder-coated weather casing. Inside the home, the CHPTA2426B3 cased evaporator coil sits in a 17.5-inch horizontal cabinet and operates with a factory-installed thermal expansion valve (TXV) for consistent refrigerant delivery. Paired with the GR9S960803BN gas furnace, the assembly draws an 80,000 BTU input to generate 96 percent annual fuel utilization efficiency. An aluminized-steel tubular heat exchanger, single-stage gas valve, and multi-speed ECM blower work together to maintain steady temperatures while reducing operational noise.
System Performance and Adaptability
Switching to R-32 refrigerant brings the unit into compliance with current EPA emissions guidelines while cutting global warming potential compared to older R-410A models. Internal safeguards include high- and low-pressure switches paired with a factory filter drier to shield the compressor from voltage spikes and moisture intrusion. A built-in diagnostic control board logs fault codes for faster technician service, and the entire frame remains convertible to liquid propane through an optional LP conversion kit.
