  • Description

This matched Goodman downflow system combines a 2.5-ton air conditioner with a 60,000 BTU gas furnace to provide complete climate control for residential spaces ranging from roughly 1,500 to 2,000 square feet, though exact sizing depends on local weather conditions. Designed as an integrated package, the bundle eliminates compatibility risks by pairing components engineered specifically for each other, ensuring stable airflow and consistent ratings throughout the operation of the unit.

The cooling portion utilizes the GLXS3BN3010 outdoor condenser featuring a single-stage scroll compressor and copper-tube, aluminum-fin coils housed within a corrosion-resistant louvered cabinet coated with durable powder coating. Paired with the CAPTA3026B3 cased evaporator coil in a compact 17.5-inch chassis, the system achieves 13.6 SEER2 efficiency. Both units operate on R-32 refrigerant, which delivers lower global warming impact compared to R-410A and meets current EPA standards while maintaining a cooling output of 30,000 BTU. The indoor coil installation includes a factory-installed thermal expansion valve to regulate refrigerant flow accurately.

    Precision Heating and Silent Distribution

Heat generation relies on the GD9S960603BN gas furnace, which converts fuel into warmth at 96% annual fuel utilization efficiency. A single-stage gas valve manages energy consumption, while a multi-speed electronic commutated motor (ECM) blower adjusts speed to match room temperatures precisely. This configuration reduces acoustic noise during operation and prevents temperature fluctuations. The furnace also incorporates an aluminized-steel tubular heat exchanger and a self-diagnostic control board to monitor system parameters continuously.

    Protective Design and Serviceability

Component longevity is supported by factory-installed safeguards including high- and low-pressure switches, plus a filter drier that shields the compressor from debris. All equipment is designed, engineered, and assembled in the United States. For regions requiring flexibility, the furnace is convertible to liquid propane via an optional LP kit, offering adaptability without replacing core hardware. Homeowners receive a 10-year limited parts warranty when the system is registered online within 60 days of professional installation.
