Description
This matched HVAC package unites a 1.5-ton R-32 air conditioner with a 60,000 BTU single-stage gas furnace into a unified horizontal assembly built for standard residential load calculations. Operating at 15.2 SEER2 cooling efficiency and 80 percent combustion efficiency, the paired units replace aging equipment while minimizing seasonal energy waste.
Cooling Circuit and Refrigeration Management
The outdoor condenser (model GLXS4BA1810) drives a single-stage scroll compressor against a copper-tube aluminum-fin coil. It connects directly to the matching cased evaporator (CHPTA2426B3), which houses a factory-mounted thermal expansion valve and a 17.5-inch cabinet designed for overhead attic or basement mounting. Built-in high- and low-pressure switches, alongside a factory install filter drier, shield the compressor from pressure extremes. The system charges with R-32 refrigerant, which lowers atmospheric impact relative to legacy blends while meeting current EPA compliance standards.
Heating Output and Air Distribution
The indoor furnace (model GR9S800603BN) directs heat through a single-stage gas valve connected to an aluminized-steel tubular heat exchanger. A multi-speed ECM blower motor modulates delivery rates automatically, reducing operational noise and holding consistent temperature setpoints across varying indoor loads. A self-diagnostic microprocessor records system states instantly, allowing qualified HVAC technicians to isolate faults without extensive manual testing.
