Description
This matched Goodman split system pairs a 1.5‑ton air conditioner with a 40,000‑BTU gas furnace into a single, factory‑aligned package that delivers balanced climate control for compact floor plans or targeted zoning. Engineered as a complete 14.5 SEER2/80% AFUE configuration, it guarantees component compatibility and maintains a verified AHRI rating without requiring aftermarket pairing.
Horizontal Layout & Specification Breakdown
The design places a top‑discharge outdoor condenser alongside a pre‑cased indoor assembly that mounts horizontally to conserve attic or ceiling clearance. Each module targets specific mechanical thresholds:
- Air Conditioner (GLXS4BA1810): 18,000 BTU cooling capacity powered by a single‑stage scroll compressor handling R‑32 refrigerant
- Furnace (GR9S800403AN): 40,000 BTU hourly intake through a single‑stage gas valve, coupled with a multi‑speed ECM blower for consistent duct static management
- Evaporator Section (CHPTA1822A3): 14‑inch horizontal cabinet featuring a factory‑installed thermal expansion valve for exact metering
- Chassis Materials: Copper‑tube aluminum‑fin condenser coils and an aluminized‑steel tubular heat exchanger housed inside a louvered, powder‑coated exterior
System Protection, Diagnostics & Warranty
Integrated high‑ and low‑pressure switches monitor line tension during every cycle, while a factory filter drier prevents particulate accumulation before it reaches the compressor. A self‑monitoring control board flags fault codes directly to the interface, simplifying troubleshooting for certified technicians. Equipment ships engineered and assembled in the United States, and an available LP conversion kit enables propane readiness when natural gas infrastructure is absent. Full coverage activates under the ten‑year parts limited warranty once completed installations are entered online within sixty days.
